Known for its gorgeous and charming waterfront lifestyle, Bronte offers that small town feel to its residents, complete with mature treed streets, various housing options and rather large lots. This area was founded in 1834, as a small fishing village that officially joined the town of Oakville in 1962. Within the past few years, buyers have been rebuilding Bronte, as many older home options have been rebuilt or renovated into brand new larger homes. In the past few years new sub-divisions have also been developed, offering buyers single and semi-detached options, in addition to the many high-rise condominiums that have been built.
Close to the Bronte downtown area, residents are close to a wide array of boutique and quaint shops, and well-known restaurants and cafes. Parks, trails and open green spaces are rather close by, bringing families, seniors and young couples out on the weekends to enjoy a lovely morning stroll. The typical Oakville family can be found here, since many schools are conveniently located within the rather peaceful, lakefront area. This also the home of the Bronte Marina.
This lakefront community provides its residents with public and Catholic school options for both elementary and secondary schools. Most of these schools offer the French Immersion program and are well known within the town.
